After learning more about the negative effects of alcohol on the body and mind, I have decided to cut alcohol out of my diet, with the exception of one or two drinks on special occasions. What better of a time to share some delicious, healthy mocktail recipes that also promote mental health?

What is a Mocktail?

A mocktail is a mixed drink that resembles a cocktail using non-alcoholic ingredients. Mocktails are a common beverage for people who don’t drink alcohol, but still enjoy a refreshing, unique beverage. Mocktails are made with healthy, fresh ingredients, which makes them a great option for any occasion. The following mocktails are specifically curated with ingredients that support a healthy body and mind.

Mental Health Mocktail Recipes

The following recipes are easy, quick, and delicious. They each take about 5 minutes to make, and can be modified to suit your taste.

Easy Mojito

This drink is refreshing, and contains plenty of antioxidants. Berries boost brain health and reduce stress, to decrease symptoms of anxiety.

A delicious and refreshing non-alcoholic mojito.

Ingredients
  

  • 1/4 cup blueberries
  • 1/4 cup raspberries
  • 1/4 lime
  • 3 single mint leaves
  • 1 can sparkling water
  • 2 tsp honey

Instructions
 

  • Place the ingredients in a glass and muddle to combine.
    1/4 cup blueberries, 1/4 cup raspberries, 3 single mint leaves, 2 tsp honey
  • Squeeze 1/4 of a lime into the mixture. (Add lime slices if desired.)

  • Top with ice and sparkling water.
